Lateral neck
Sonographic view of the lateral neck muscles.
The lateral course of the levator scapulae muscle is shown with its border to the splenius capitis and cervicis muscles and the semispinalis capitis and cervicis muscles. Further on the trapezius muscle in its lateral course, below these the longissimus cervicis, illicostalis cervicis and sempispinalis muscles and the scalenius posterior and medius muscles and then laterally below the trapezius muscle the supraspinatus muscle.
